The theory that music begins in the individual provides the basis for Carl Orff’s fundamental concept of musical education which aims to encourage ›elemental music-making‹. Language, dance and music are conceived as three forms of expression of equal significance.
Play and improvisation are combined in a work process which provides the participants with a high degree of creative freedom and leads to integrated artistic activity.
Other forms of artistic expression such as the performing arts and fine art can also be incorporated.
