Orff Institute

In 1961, Carl Orff established the »Orff Institute« as a centre for elemental education in music and dance at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg. Orff’s Schulwerk designated the interrelationship between music, language and dance as the foundation of musical socialisation and development of personality.

The »Orff Institute« is devoted to the training of teachers for elemental education in music and dance/movement in schools and as freelance teachers on all educational levels.

The institute is particularly oriented towards the academic and artistic-practical development of education in music and dance and also upholds the tradition of the Orff-Schulwerk and its documentation and further development.
