The Management Board and Board of Trustees

Liselotte Orff, the composer’s widow, was appointed by her husband in his will as the director of the foundation for life. She has undertaken this task with great commitment for almost 24 years and has shaped the content of the foundation’s activities. She has particularly championed the worldwide dissemination of Carl Orff’s musical-dramatic compositions and the Orff Schulwerk. Liselotte Orff was appointed as honorary chair of the foundation in 2008.

Management Board

On 1 January 2008, she transferred the directorship of the foundation to the composer and Orff pupil Wilfried Hiller who is a member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Art and also active in a number of honorary posts. He was for example between 2006 and 2008 the president of the Bavarian Music Council. For numerous musicians, he is a highly valued teacher and discussion partner.

The well-known music educationalist Prof. Dr. Regina Pauls is also a member of the Management Board and represents the area of music education as the successor of Prof. Dr. Hermann Regner at the Orff Institute in Salzburg. She lives in Leipzig and is one of the principal co-founders of the independent all-day school “Clara Schumann” in the city. The conceptual approach of this school is constructed on Carl Orff’s musical-artistic basic concept and therefore encourages creative design and specific forms of further development.

The solicitor Ute Hermann is the executive member of the Management Board and undertakes the responsibility for legal matters. Ms Herman possesses extensive experience in the administration and organisation of foundations and music associations.
